Entry #4 — Repurposing Old Tech

One of my current hobbies has been repurposing and tweaking old tech I find in old storage boxes in my closet. It started with my Nintendo DS lite that I got when I was around 6 years old. It's in mint condition and I found all my games for it. Then I found my brother's 3DS and ended up modding it and keeping it for myself since he didn't want it. Now I've found our old PS Vita Slim but it has stick drift on both joysticks so I'm looking to buy replacements to fix it myself before modding it.

Yesterday I found an old Sprint Alcatel One Touch Pixi 7 (Such a long name lol) and got it up and running. The google playstore no longer works because it's running Android 5.1.1 and no matter what I tried, I couldn't get any google services to work on it besides the internet browser. I decided to give this little tablet a new life as my own little ereader.

I factory reset it and side downloaded an ereader app with my computer. It's been amazing! It's the perfect size, being about 7.5 in x 4.5 in or so (don't exactly remember) so it's big enough to read comfortably but small enough to fit in any of my bags. I can download books onto it by connecting it to my computer and I've been having a blast.

I'm itching to find another project to work on and I think that I want an mp3 player. They're cute, help me disconnect from my phone, and I've already started downloading my current spotify playlist to have as a backup in case I ever stopped paying for it (because I'm poor). I have this itch to go thrifting or go to the swap meet but I don't know if I'd be able to fix up a broken one. I could always learn (love me a challenge).

We'll see where this newfound hobby goes.

Entry #3 — Website Tweaks

I've gotten too many headaches trying to move things around and change the look of my website. It feels like no matter how many tweaks I make, I'm never done lol. I think that's the beauty of it though.

I need to keep reminding myself to take breaks or I'll get really bad headaches. Then again, I should probably wear my glasses too (lol).

Entry #2 — Moka's Vet Trip

Yesterday was a busy day. We took Moka to the vet to get her ear infection taken care of. That was initially what we went for but she ended up staying a full 8 hours since we went ahead and asked for her cushings and thyroid tests.

I just got a call back from the doctor and, good news! The results came back negative for Cushings disease! I'm so happy to hear that. Her thyroid levels were just a tad bit low but the doctor said that it wasn't enough to say she has hypothyroidism.

She'll be going back in about a week or so to get her ears checked again and maybe do another thyroid test to see if there are any changes. The doctor said she's probably just stressed. I wonder why though, what can I do better or change?

While waiting for her, I went to a cafe and got a crepe! It was delicious!

Entry #1 — Hello Indie Web!

This officially marks my debut in the indie web space.

I've spent countless hours watching people go through different personal website and talking about their own and it got me excited to start my own!

I'm still not sure if I want to set a password for the journal page, I guess it depends on how deep the entries get. I wonder if I can figure out how to lock certain entires that I'd wanna keep private? I dunno, sounds complicated but I'm sure I'll learn how to do cooler stuff on here with time.

Anyway, I'm gonna get back to adding more stuff on here!
